In
one afternoon, this popular excursion enables visitors to experience some of the

the spouting hot spring of Geysir
and Strokkur
and the colourful volcanic crater Kerið. We continue our
journey to Hveragerði town, a small but beautiful
horticultural town where you will see how geothermal energy has been harnessed
to create unique greenhouse cultivation. We then travel over a mountain heath
back to the capital. Although this trip is an “express” tour, you will be

AH30 South Coast & Thorsmork
We
begin this tour by driving over the mountain Hellisheiði towards Selfoss. We
visit Seljalandsfoss waterfall and walk into the rugged gorge of Stakkholtsgjá.
Our main attraction is Þórsmörk (i.e. Thor’s Woodland), a nature reserve
shielded on three sides by glaciers and mountains. There are a multitude of
small gullies and valleys, clad with low birch-trees that create seemingly
endless possibilities for the nature lover. The glacial melt-off forms
rivers that have to be crossed on the way to Þórsmörk and some days the
crossing is quite challenging or even impossible. An innocent tream can
change in a matter of hours into a thunderous torrent. Our skilled drivers are
very experienced in these driving conditions and will take you safely across the
river. This trip is truly unforgettable for the nature lover at the heart and
ideal as a hiking trip. During the hardest winter months, it might not be
possible to access Þórsmörk. Then we will visit Vík village and the
magnificent
Skógarfoss waterfall.
· Season: All year round
· Departures on Fridays and Sundays at 8:30
· Additional departure on Tuesdays from May through September
· Duration 10 hours
· Complimentary pick-up at your hotel or guesthouse in Reykjavik at 08:00

called “The Pearl of the Central Highlands”. We journey through the
beautiful countryside of southern Iceland. We proceed into the highlands through

colourful mountains are due to centuries of volcanic activity in the area. The
picturesque natural landscape in this raw climate is simply breathtaking. While
there, we’ll enjoy a relaxing bath in a natural warm pool which is created
where many hot and cold springs mix together.
Please note that use of soap is forbidden in the pool. The tour continues toward
the west and past Iceland’s most infamous and active volcano, Hekla, which

AH33 Northern Lights Mystery
Join
us for a mysterious trip, on a dark night, any time from the onset of autumn
darkness until the light nights of spring, we can witness one of nature’s most
spectacular displays; the phenomenon which we call the Northern Lights. Far from
the glow of the city, we hunt for the elusive Northern Lights – also known as
the Aurora Borealis. Together we will search for these magnificent auroras.
On a clear night, we may be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights
swirling in a wild and carefree dance across the heaven in dramatic shapes,
colours, patterns and sizes. The Northern Lights are visible from September
through April but can only be seen on a clear night. Therefore, we reserve the
right to cancel this tour if the evening sky is heavily clouded or weather
conditions are not favourable. Before we start this tour we always check the
weather forecast around the south western part of Iceland. From experience, we
decide where each journey will lead us, for the best possibilities to see the
Northern Lights.
